ARTICLE I - Name, Purpose, and Affiliations
The name of this organization shall be the Okanogan County School
Retirees’ Association (OCSRA). Its purpose is: To promote the
general welfare of its members and cooperate with state and national
association in promoting public education and good citizenship.
Affiliation: The Okanogan County School Retirees’ Association (OCSRA)
Unit #15 of the Washington State School Retirees’ Association (WSSRA)
and the AARP.
ARTICLE II - Membership
Any member of the Washington State Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS),
Public Emloyees Retirement System (PERS), or the Washington State
Employees Retirement System (SERS) and any person whose occupation
is or was closely related to schools and education may become a
member. Any member’s spouse or former member’s spouse may become a
member.
ARTICLE III – Officers and Executive Board
Officers and Executive Board will be President, Vice-president,
Secretary, and Treasurer. They shall be elected each March and take
office after installation following the business meeting in May. The
Past-President shall be a member of the Executive Board as an active
advisor.
ARTICLE IV – Meetings
General meetings of the Association shall be the last Friday of the
months of September, October, January, February, March, April, and
May.
Executive Board meetings shall be the last Friday of the month of
August, or may be called at the discretion of the President of the
Association.
One more than half of the members present shall constitute a quorum
at a general meeting. Three officers shall constitute a quorum of
the Executive Board.
ARTICLE V – Committees
Standing committees shall be Health, Historian, Legislative,
Membership, Member Service, Out Reach, Retirement, and Scholarship.
The Financial committee shall consist of the treasurer and two
elected trustees.
ARTICLE VI – Amendments
Amendments to the Constitution shall be submitted in writing to the
Executive Board who shall present them with recommendations at the
succeeding general meeting. Adoption of the amendments shall require
a two-third vote of members in attendance at the general meeting of
the Association.
